For my wedding, I designed and made my dress and accessories (veil, gloves, earrings).  The dress was designed to satisfy my inner child as well as perform its function without irritating me.  As I have a low tolerance for physical annoyance and my inner child has a lavish sensibility, it was an interesting challenge.  Add to that my desire to buy as little “new” fabric for the project as possible.  

 

For my inner child: sequins, bows, ribbons, ruffles, scales, corset, embroidery, diaphanous layers, and a mermaid shape

 

For my comfort: easy to don 4 piece construction, a detachable train for dancing, fingerless gloves for eating
